Thursday, Friday, June 5, & 6 2025 allow the art events to dominate Los Angeles this weekend. A special shout-out goes to LACP for its annual benefit. This year’s honoree is the talented photographer Sam Abell.

Head to Santa Monica…LACP (Los Angeles Center of Photography) hosts its Spring Benefit honoring Sam Abell today at the Beach Club. In honor of the iconic photographer and mentor’s 80th birthday this year, LACP celebrates his timeless influence. In fact a limited edition print by Sam Abell is available for purchase. All buyers of the print will receive either a complimentary seat at the Spring Benefit honoring Sam Abell or a $250 LACP gift card – their choice.

The LACP community has been privileged to learn from the legendary photograph. In fact Sam’s workshops have inspired many LACP photographers to develop their own forms of storytelling.

Asher Koondel and Roscoe Merjos hold an opening art party for Under Marble. This is the first solo exhibition of works by artist Archer Defterios. Expanding on his ongoing exploration of color, light, and texture, Under Marble examines the tension between surface and also depth. Additionally through a layered, iterative approach to painting, Defterios invites the viewer to look beyond the immediate, much like uncovering what lies beneath marble.
