Take Dad to the Natural History Museum. Then pop into the Butterfly Pavilion. I spent a some time the the NHM Butterfly Pavilion, and it was so delightful. If you stand still these beautiful creatures will land right on you. Chinatown
In honor of Jewish Heritage Month, Gallery 945 presents a group show titled Imagine.The artwork of activist and well known Venice artist Sandy Bleifer will be included in the group show. Her work features her ongoing exploration of paper. By manipulating (tearing, folding, layering, peeling, crushing, etc.), she utilizes paper as a kind of drawing and sculpting material. See image, where the artist also incorporates elements of nature thus creating a nuanced mixed media work.

In the Mid City area
Matter Studio Gallery holds an art talk with Bibi Davidson. Her solo exhibition It Fucking Matters is currently on view at the gallery. Born and raised in Israel, the artist has been living in LA most of her life. This is her second show at Matter Studio Gallery. The title It Fucking Matters reflects her most recent life experience. Six months ago Davidson was involved in an accident that caused her partial paralysis. The possibility of never working again as an artist consumed her.
