Of course much of the art parties scheduled for January 11, 2025 are now canceled. David Kordansky is one of the must-see galleries to visit. Yes they have canceled their event, however, they are keeping the gallery open all day. A perfect diversion from the trauma of all these fires.

Mid Wilshire…Marciano Art Foundation (MAF) offers weekly performances and activations for Doug Aitken’s exhibition Lightscape.
The installations also features immersive live music. Concurrently, MAF will present Quaternion by Kristen Wentrcek and Andrew Zebulon, showcasing functional furniture encouraging reading and conversation. Doug Aitken Regen Projects Postponed

The debuts Psychic Debris Field, an exhibition of new work by Los Angeles-based artist Doug Aitken. In this exhibition Aitken sets forth a poly-media composition of artworks. These works create a narrative exploring the juxtaposition of deep ecological history within our landscape and contemporary habitation. Therefore a fever-dream interpretation of our landscape is the result. The installation includes large-scale sculptures created from urban debris, light and sound, botanic artworks, and fabric works. All of these elements seamlessly combine these mediums.

In Mid City…This prominent gallery brings us two new exhibitions. The Perfect Tense by Sam McKinniss is the first solo exhibition with the gallery. McKinniss paints pictures based on pre-existing images found online. He transfigures these images into open-ended documents of emotional life.
The art of Lesley Vance will be celebrated at the David Kordansky Gallery tonight. The exhibition of watercolors and will take over two spaces of the gallery. The solo show features several new formats as well as large and medium canvases. Additionally a group of brand new watercolors will be included in the exhibition.
