Good Mother Gallery Los Angeles collaborates with with London based Subtitle Labs to present a group exhibition titled Sunset Ripple. The opening art party was held on August 5, 2023, but the show runs through August 16, 2023
Good Mother Sunset Ripple
Thirteen emerging talents are featured in the group show – eight British based artists and Five American artists. These artists explore the impact of local and foreign culture and how it affects us consciously or unconsciously.
Featured Artists include: Aaron Glasson, Alex Chechik, Alya Hatta, Amelia Johnson, Charlie Spot, Daisy Collingridge, Pareid, Koby Martin, Lauryn Levette, Liz Walsh, Pau Auguiló, Tyler Lurks, and Sean Hamilton.
About the Exhibition
The exhibition invites 13 global artists to consider the domestic and international cultural influences within their surroundings. The artists are from countries that include Ghana, Spain and Malaysia. The exhibition also opens conversations about the influences that we share and those that are unique to each other’s environments. Therefore each work acts as a reflective analysis for each artist, to understand how a mix of cultures has shaped their outlook. This includes objects, communities, personalities as well as moments that have formed their thought process and had a lasting impact. Ultimately the exhibition will seek to enable artists and the viewers to recognize the influences that they do not acknowledge but live with everyday and hopefully provide an appreciation for the previously unseen.
About Good Mother Gallery
The gallery currently has two locations. Founded in 2014, Good Mother Gallery has thrived as one of the most popular contemporary art galleries in the Bay Area, California. Its mission is to advance public interest in local and international emerging artists. Thus by hosting monthly art exhibitions and community events, Good Mother offers a welcoming space for artists and creates community engagement through art. The Los Angeles space, located in the Arts District, opened in November 2022.
