Well it seems there are First Friday’s everywhere, Silverlake is alive tonight with art openings tonight from 6:00 pm till 8:00 pm. 
Yuca’s on Hollywood will be celebrating the work of Corita Kent. An established artist, Corita Kent a nun and a teacher (definitely not like the ones I was taught by), aka Sister Mary Corita. Best known for her 1960s spiritual pop and politically charged serigraph prints Kent’s “Moments Series” will be on view at Yuca’s on Hollywood, for the month of March.
Curated by Sasha Carrera, the “Art of the Moment” feautures an interlocking series of color-saturated serigraphs. Yuca’s on Hollywood (4666 Hollywood Blvd., LA 90027), is an offshoot of the well known Los Feliz burrito hut. The event will also include art-games and prizes.
First Fridays Returns at the Natural History Museum which stays open until 10 pm and features live music, exciting scientific discussion, and behind-the-scenes curatorial tours.

Also in Silverlake…La Luz De Jesus Gallery presents their annual juried group exhibition, LALUZAPALOOZA.
125 artist were chosen from over 9,000 submissions from commercial illustrators, graphic designers, tattooists, scenics, students, animators and working gallery artists.
This jam-packed, salon-style exhibition will feature many new undiscovered, emerging talent.

Or in Venice, there’s always First Friday on Abbot Kinney, which runs from 6:00 ish to 9:00 ish..Well you know Venice. It has slowed down a bit in the winter months. Though I do have some confirmed events for you…more to come on the weekend update.
Altered Space, (1221 Abbot Kinney) is advocating a “not for sale” policy this Friday night at Altered Space Gallery.
