This body of work stems from her 2015 solo exhibition at the Casa de Vidro in São Paulo, home of celebrated Italian-born Brazilian architect Lina Bo Bardi.

During this time Kellndorfer also engaged with the architecture of Oscar Niemeyer and the gardens of Roberto Burle Marx, finding their approach to Brazilian Modernism nascent to a new scope of reference.

Head to Highland Avenue…

ASat-June25-ACGalleryC Gallery (formerly Artists Corner Gallery) holds a closing exhibition (at its new location) titled “Small Town Hero” featuring the art of Zachary Crane.

Small town hero is a collection of blurred and exaggerated memories from my childhood. Anything from a wad of stiff socks under the bed to an invasive pattern that takes over an entire room.  Most of the inspiration comes from my grandparent’s house that still stands in the small town of Burley, Idaho. The interiors all have a consistent nostalgia that takes on a 1970’s flare.  Red shag carpet meets white washed faux wood panel up the walls, finished with a popcorn glittery ceiling bursting with asbestos.  To this day, every square inch of that house lines up perfectly with my memories.  A lot of things in my life have changed, but the hassles and the house are just the same.  It brings me a sense of comfort.
