“Mercado Los Olvidados,” loosely translated as the Lost Ones Market and borrowing inspiration from the surrealist Luis Buñuel’s film of the same name, is an annual artists’ popup market taking place, fittingly, in underground Downtown Los Angeles at pskaufman gallery.
Conceived and curated by Camille Rose Garcia and Pskaufman, Mercado Los Olvidados was created for the purpose of bringing artists and their communities directly together. Foregoing the traditional artist/gallery model, by bringing multiple artists together and allowing them to show the depth of how their work can be interpreted, Mercado Los Olvidados hopes to change the way people think of art, while changing how the art that they purchase can be incorporated into their daily lives. Mercado Los Olvidados will feature Custom Chainstitch Embroidery, Tin Type Portraits, and even Stick and Poke Tattooing, while offering fans a chance to meet and interact with their favorite artists.
Tonight’s event is a preview event from 7-10pm. It continues throughout the weekendBe Aware there is an admission of $50 per person for this event; Tickets for Mercado Los Olvidados CLICK HERE.
