Here’s another all weekend annual event…the LA Art Book Fair is presented by Printed Matter and is the companion fair to the NY Art Book Fair, held every fall in New York City.
Arcana Books is participating in this event. In West Hollywood…
Depart Foundation will present Kour Pour’s first solo exhibition in Los Angeles, curated by Nicola Ricciardi.

Opening concurrently with Art Los Angeles Contemporary 2015, the exhibition by British-Iranian, Los Angeles-based Pour will include new paintings and related installation works that continue the artist’s recent carpet painting series. In the first iteration of this series the carpet imagery was directly appropriated from exhibition and auction catalogs.
The paintings in this show are composed in Photoshop using imagery found online and from clip art CD-ROMs to create original carpet designs in which iconic motifs and symbols from different time periods and regions of the world are juxtaposed to flatten time, space, and location.

WINK is a unique collection gathering six of the biggest names in contemporary arts: Anri Sala, Christian Boltanski, Adel Abdessemed, Claude Lévêque, Jesper Just and Douglas Gordon.
Most of them represented their country at La Biennale di Venezia (Venice) and their work was featured in major museums across the world. For the WINK project, each artist designed an original piece, produced in a very limited edition. The collection originally meant for the Silencio Club in Paris has now made it to the United States, where it will be shown at Please Do Not Enter Los Angeles exclusively.
