BUTTER Fine Art Fair

Another new art fair joining the 2026 Los Angeles Art Week is BUTTER Fine Art Fair. Hollywood Park (part of the SoFi property) in Inglewood will host the event. The art fair celebrates black artists and is founded by Alan Bacon, Jr. and Malina Simone Bacon. The event does not showcase galleries, rather artists on their own. Echo Park

Kanemitsu on Traction opens at Musée du Al tonight. The solo show spotlights the printmaking art of Matsumi (Mike) Kanemitsu (1922–1992). It is curated by Nancy Uyemura, Katy Crowe and Kevin Walker. The exhibition includes work that the artist produced at his studio on Traction located across the street from Al’s Bar in downtown Los Angeles. de boer Los Angeles offers new exhibitions with an opening art party. These include: Layo Bright: Altar Ego and also Melissa Ríos: Tan Solo un Rumor de Fondo.

The work of Nigeria-born, Brooklyn-based artist Layo Bright includes a group of new sculptures, in addition to the artist’s signature bloom forms, and then some. The artist focuses on narratives of ancestry, feminism, mass migration, and also the African diaspora. While the Mexico City-based artist Melissa Ríos brings us new paintings for her first solo exhibition with the gallery.

Brassroots District celebrates its self titled album with Brassroots District: LA ’74. The immersive theater-concert takes place at Jewel’s Catch One and takes audiences back to the year 1974.
