As part of its “Consume: Handcrafting L.A. Design” exhibition, Craft in America will be hosting a series of talks with Los Angeles-based chefs and designers / makers.
For this talk, Somni Chef Aitor Zabala, known for his artistic and avant-garde approach to food, will be speaking about incorporating the handmade into his modernist, 10-seat tasting counter in the SLS Hotel. Somni, a venture with pioneering chef José Andrés, is highly conceptual and experimental with its food as well as the objects used.
Following the talk, tea sommelier and connoisseur Kioh Park will be sharing a selection of teas harvested from China. Park will be there to educate about the teas and answer any questions. Some teas will be available to purchase at the event.
