The catalogue features illuminating texts by Wood that incorporate process notes, references, and thoughts about his practice and art making in general. This richly illustrated monograph shows how Wood plans and executes his celebrated paintings from his own point of view.

Jonas Wood’s Plants and Animals

Full-color plates of the fourteen paintings in the exhibition accompany the texts, paired with installation views and dozens of contextualizing images. These include drawings, collages, prints, photographs, previous paintings, research materials, and studio shots.

Plants and Animals is an expressive and entertaining immersion in the world of an artist. These evocations of daily life, memories, and invented scenes are both familiar and surprising. In addition, the paintings contain innumerable visual worlds of their own. Jonas Wood: Plants and Animals is designed by Studio LHOOQ.
