Saturday, August 8, 2026: Art Parties & Events continues the weekend’s festivities with a summer event at Bergamot Station, art fairs, openings, walk throughs, performance art, a grand opening, and let’s not forget the 20 year anniversary art party at CHG. In Santa Monica….Bergamot Station is hosting a summer gathering today from 11am-5pm; Many of the galleries will open, with some have “events.” Nevertheless be sure to pop in to enjoy all of the exhibitions currently on view. There will be vendors, with arts and crafts, plus food pop ups, etc.

The Brick presents a provocative group show titled To Share a Stomach. It was first organized in March 2026 via correspondences sent by artists currently living and working in Iran. Fowler Museum brings us a fun summer opening of a group show titled Textiles as Monument. The exhibition features three contemporary artists—Suchitra Mattai, Jagdeep Raina, and Swapnaa Tamhane. Furthermore, these artists demonstrate how utilizing specific textiles, can be a powerful tool.
The event will include food, music, and a lively conversation between the artists and the curator of textiles Syona Puliady. Gallery Luisotti debuts a group show titled 1911 Sunset Boulevard. The new exhibition features the work of six contemporary artists. Corey Helford Gallery hosts a tribute show to celebrate twenty years. The 20th Anniversary Exhibition is a two-part exhibition highlighting a massive roster of artists who participated in establishing CHG place in the LA Art world today. The second part of the group show will open on September 19, 2026.
Jan Corey Helford and television producer and creator Bruce Helford first founded the gallery in 2006. I have been spotlighted their culver city gallery for years, and yes I also attended many of their art parties. When they moved downtown, the gallery finally had enough space to host large scale exhibitions.
