niteSpa is back in Venice and throwing an art party dubbed Boho Disco this Saturday, August 22. See my article in this week’s Argonaut Newspaper. It’s so good to see that niteSpa has returned to Venice, unlike so many businesses that we have lost.

The new venue is located in the downstairs space at sm-nitespa-Julia-Lolita-Martin-Wrobel-AndrewKeeganFull Circle, a local community and spiritual center. It will also house another local business (who was also pushed out of Venice) Beach Beauty Culture. Longtime Venice resident and co-founder Andrew Keegan saw a need to help keep local businesses in Venice. “Community is why Full Circle exists. Each of us is on our own journey in life, and it’s the people we meet and develop friendships, relationships, and partnerships along the way with who truly allow us to grow. At Full Circle we provide a space for people to do the inner-work while connecting with like-minded individuals who are also on a path of forward motion. There are many components to community, too. In this instance we’re focusing on a space where people can come together to embrace their own beauty, both internal and external. Beauty and wellness are very much in alignment with our spiritual practices that keep self-care and self-growth at the forefront of life’s journey.”

The launch event will feature a throwback vibe so be sure to get wild with your attire. Here are some suggestions from Julia herself….Gypsy dreamers, Bohemian Rhapsodies, disco dolly’s, STUDIO 54, fab & foxy finery, summer of LOVE, and or just have your wardrobe be inspired by a fabulous psychedelic spirit. See below for more details and admission charge (which will benefit its giving back program, spaKarma).

We’ve gMichaelBaroff-Apex-24x302ot some incredible artists showing work, so come on by and take a peek.

Michael Baroff has been painting for over thirty years. He has a lovely studio in Santa Monica that I want to encourage everyone to stop in. He recently showed his work at bG Gallery at Bergamot Station. His work was also on view at niteSpa’s Mar Vista location just about five months ago.

“I am very pleased to be invited back to show at nitespa, said Baroff. “Julia has created a wonderful environment to offer personal rejuvenation services in the sanctity of a church. I feel honored to have my paintings add to people’s experience. And, always a blessing to be close to the ocean!”

Baroff will be featuring his Metascape paintings. Enjoy works from two series, the Apex and Vista series! “All my Metascape paintings are inspired by the transitional nature of a horizon — be it the line where the earth or sea seems to meet the sky or, more metaphorically, the limit of our experience or what we deem to be possible. The Vista series, which are horizontal, seeks to represent a more distant view and the Apex series, which are vertical, more the sense of a resolution or climax.” For more information about Michael, see his website at http://metascapeart.com/

Stephen Schubert started painting later in life (33) and hasn’t stopped since. It’s a great story. He woke up from a dream and just started painting. His work has been exhibited in multiple museums and galleries over forty-five galleries across the U.S. Stephen’s art is currently on view at Gallery 166 in Vail Colorado and ZK Gallery in San Francisco. You can find him in the LA Area this October at the West Edge Modern Design Show.

HniteSpa-StephenSchubert-Koie has several works on view. One is Golden Koi. Schubert explains his inspiration, “Golden koi was inspired by my love of Japanese garden design…called, Living Jewels of the Water, they embody the qualities of sensuality, beauty, wisdom and old age.”

Bethany Londyn does it all. In addition to being an artist she is also an author, and entrepreneur. Londyn sets an intention when she does her work, and this piece “ode to earth” was infused with PRESENCE. Her work was recently on view at the Santa Monica Art Studios.
