Los Angeles has one of the most dynamic photography communities in the world and attracts photographers, gallery and museum directors, and collectors from around the world. This year (April 21-23, 2017) marks the 4th edition of Photo Independent — The International Exposition of Contemporary Photography — an exquisite art fair that enables artists to display, promote and sell their own contemporary fine art photography.
Established in 2014, Photo Independent is the first of its kind, photographers-only art fair. Photo Independent allows artists to directly discuss, present, showcase and sell their work to curators, collectors, galleries, and an enthusiastic buying public within a professional art environment. Each photographer will have their own booth to display images, as in other art fairs, such as Art Basel and Paris Photo.
Paul Martineau, Associate Curator at The Getty Museum, will be reviewing every photographer and their booth at this year’s Photo Independent, and will be awarding the “Best of Show”. The chosen artist will be awarded a solo exhibition in the 2018 fair.
Roger Ballen, world-renowned fine art photographer will be exhibiting at this year’s Photo Independent. So you’re in good company.
Not only do artists gain important relationships with the audience that attends the fair, they also keep 100% of all sales at the fair. The Press has given Photo Independent major accolades, and has called it the most exciting venue in exhibiting the best of contemporary work ever assembled, LA TIMES.
Artists themselves will be promoted to the media through a network of marketing provided by Fabrik Media, a multifaceted creative and marketing agency that supports artists and their mediums. This juried exhibition is for the very best established, emerging, and undiscovered, top level, contemporary artists.
Artists are able to select from different packages starting at $975. For more information about Photo Independent, and how to apply please visit www.photoindependent.com.
