In Culver City…Taylor Fine Art hosts a book signing for Sugar Weasel Exposed by fiction writer Barbara Barett. Published April 25, 2024, the novel is based on the real-life clown who goes by “Sugar Weasel” and is paid handsomely by gorgeous women for sex and entertainment. Wönzimer Gallery hosts its closing art party for a group exhibition titled Windswept. The group exhibition spotlights Susan Ossman, and features over 15 painted works from international artist. Graffiti artist GREY (Jonas Melvin) enjoys an LA debut with Pink Cloud at BEYOND THE STREETS. The artist is known as a trailblazer of San Francisco’s golden graffiti era. After rising to fame in the late ’90s, GREY disappeared into a world of addiction and turmoil, resurfacing years later with a renewed purpose. The show also features works by Alexis Ross, Alicia McCarthy, Angel Castro, Barry McGee, Cheryl Dunn, Dan Murphy, Dave Schubert, Elberto Muller, GKAE, Mark Cross, MERCH, Stephen Powers, Timothy Curtis, Todd James, and more. Head to the Skylight Theatre Company for a preview performance of Tracy Young’s modern verse translation of William Shakespeare’s The Winter’s Tale. Tracy Young and Lisa Wolpe have adapted the legendary play in an accessible, 90-minute modern English translation. Young directs as she retells her version of the iconic story about love, loss, as well as rebirth.
