Anna Zorina Gallery presents Currents, Maya Seas’ debut solo exhibition with the gallery. An opening art party took place on July 21, 2023, however the exhibition will run through September 9, 2023.

The show will feature the artist’s latest series of paintings, which explore the sacred and intimate dimensions of life. Imbued with rituals, prayers and secrets, these scenes revive the timelessness of natural rhythms that our high paced, quickly changing world attempts to bury.

In these paintings, the boundaries between self and nature blur. Like one floating in a placid waters, Currents evokes the transcendent serenity of nature’s embrace. However, these artworks are not merely visual representations. They are also portals into the depths of nature’s currents. In Seas’ timeless as well as immersive scenes, viewers are invited to unloose from the distractions of the modern world and to bow to the regenerative beauty of the wind, the waves, the creatures surrounding them.

About Maya Seas

Born in 1991, Maya Seas currently lives and works in Los Angeles, California. She received her BA in Humanities and Culture at Hampshire College, Amherst, Massachusetts (2013). Her work has also been exhibited in numerous solo and group shows such as: Between Us, UTA in Los Angeles (2021), BOTHO Art Collective, in Los Angeles (2022), Border Kindness in Charlie James Gallery, Los Angeles (2022) and Pakistan Flood Relief Art Auction Fundraiser, at Savan Collective in New York (2022), etc.
