LA Theatre

The New Ruskin Group Theatre Arts Center opens its inaugural production titled Honour. Written by Joanna Murray-Smith & directed by Max Mayer, it features Marcia Cross and Matthew Letscher. Synopsis: A sharp and authentic examination of love, betrayal, and the fragile agreements that hold marriages together. When a celebrated writer can’t seem to “do the right thing,” decades of loyalty, intimacy, and compromise unravel in a single evening. With wit and emotional precision, the play explores the personal cost of truth and the reverberations of a single, life-altering choice – asking whether honesty is always an act of courage, or sometimes one of cruelty.

LA Opera hosts its second performance of Akhnaten by Philip Glass. This revival is the 40th Anniversary Season. Director Phelim McDermott returns and Dalia Stasevska will conduct. In conjunction with What A Wonderful World: An Audiovisual Poem, presented by The Julia Stoschek Foundation, Scottish artist Douglas Gordon’s Feature Film will be screened. It spotlights the artist’s fascination with Alfred Hitchcock’s work. The single night screening will take place in the main theater of the Variety Arts building. Furthermore, while you are there, be sure to take in this exhibition. It features 45 time-based artworks spanning 120 years of film and also video.
