Fahey/Klein Gallery presents a two-person exhibition titled Fade to West. The photographic exhibition features the art of Paul Jasmin and Todd Weaver. Therefore documenting its landscapes, people, and the alluring atmosphere that surrounds the city.

The exhibition pairs Jasmin’s portraits and cinematic vignettes with Weaver’s ethereal nature scenes. Hence the result is a dual portrait of a destination defined by light, youth, and transience.

Together, Jasmin and Weaver render California not as an ideal or illusion, but as a living, breathing place—one that glows brightest in moments that never last.

Paul Jasmin

Fade to West was developed in collaboration with Paul Jasmin prior to his death. So the exhibition stays true to his vision and voice left on the earth. The exhibition celebrates his devotion to Los Angeles and his enduring artistic legacy.

Born in Helena, Montana, Paul Jasmin (1935–2025) began as a painter and actor before photography. In the 1970s, Bruce Weber encouraged him to pursue the medium. Jasmin’s images explored youth, innocence, and the tension between aspiration and reality. He shot for Vogue, GQ, Interview, and other leading magazines in addition to producing well known Ad campaigns.

As a longtime teacher at ArtCenter College of Design in Pasadena, Jasmin mentored generations of artists. Known affectionately as “Jazz,” he brought warmth and rigor to his teaching, nurturing imagination with quiet grace. He passed away peacefully in Los Angeles on May 24, 2025, at 90.

Born in 1970, Todd Weaver brings emotional intensity to portraits of musicians and artists. He is also well known for his use of color. Mentored by William Claxton, Ellen von Unwerth, and Herb Ritts, he developed a distinctive voice. Weaver’s recent work spotlights Southern California’s surf culture, using analog experiments to explore movement, atmosphere, and connection.
