Of course, the Pick of the Week is the Dia de Los Muertos festival at Hollywood Forever Cemetery…which takes place this Saturday.
It’s the largest celebration of it’s kind in California. The 13th annual “Dia de Los Muertos” will be held at Hollywood Forever on October 27th, 2012.
Celebrate, remember and honor the memories of all our beloved souls on the grounds of the historic Hollywood Forever Cemetery.
This year’s event will reach back to the pre-Aztec roots of Dia De Los Muertos and explore the Mayan Gods, rituals and calendar…showcasing Aztec Ritual Dancers in full costume
The event will feature musical performances by Ozomatli, La Santa Cecilia, Very Be Careful, Las Cafeteras, and Tribu incredibly original altar creations as well as sacred ceremonial tributes and live performances.Also enjoy an art exhibition in the Cathedral Mausoleum
If you’ve never been to the Hollywood Forever Cemetery be sure to visit the graves of Hollywood celebrities.
Great food from around the world will be on sale.
Get there early, cause parking can be a biatch. The event runs 12pm to 12am and is RAIN or SHINE
There are 3 ticket types – each ticket is good for entry during a window of time. You can not enter before or after your window of time, however you may stay beyond the admission window.
Admission times are:
12pm-4pm; 4pm-7pm; 7pm-11pm
Tickets are $10
Children 8 and under FREE until 4pm
Seniors 65 and over FREE until 4pm
