Trombone Shorty rocked the bowl. The night began with Danielle Ponder who set the stage for the night’s festivities with her soulful and powerful voice. The audience responded to her blend of R&B, soul, blues, hip hop as well as rock. Ponder encouraged creatives in the audience to never give up on their dreams. Until December 2021, she worked as a public defender. She was clearly thrilled to be performing at this iconic venue and also opening for Trombone Shorty and Big Boi. Her memorable version of Radiohead’s “Creep” turned the intense four-minute ballad into an eight-minute epic.

Big Boi brought his signature Atlanta hip-hop energy to the Bowl. The OutKast legend’s performance was filled with hits and crowd-pleasing anthems. It was obvious that a large number of attendees were there for Big Boi’s set. His charismatic stage presence and infectious energy had the audience dancing and singing along.
