Several events take place at Bergamot Station…Start at Skidmore Contemporary Art for an opening reception for two new exhibitions…”Eric Nash, A Golden State, Paintings and Drawings,” and “Melissa Chandon, Far and Beyond, New Paintings.” I love the work of both of these artists – and have previously reviewed each artist in different publications. Two events take place at Hauser & Wirth Los Angeles. Enjoy an art talk at 3pm (there is an admission charge for the art talk only. The event takes place in conjunction with ‘Julian Rosefeldt. Manifesto’ – the West Coast premiere of the 13-channel film installation by visual artist Julian Rosefeldt at Hauser & Wirth Los Angeles. Oscar Award-winning actress, Cate Blanchett, and Executive and Artistic Director of UCLA’s Center for the Art of Performance, Kristy Edmunds will all be part of the conversation. Grand Park celebrates the traditions of Día de los Muertos with multiple ways to experience and learn about the holiday. In partnership with Self-Help Graphics & Art and Lore, the park will present 50 altars and art installations created by local artists and community groups that reflect the themeLooking to the Past to Build the Future.
