Founded by journalist, and "Blues Mama" Kathy Leonardo (a longtime performer), the campy site has an unusual slant which will keep you entertained. Leonardo has been writing for the past 15 years about various subjects for the Huffington Post, THRIVE GLOBAL, LA Weekly, etc.

Each month the LAArtParty staff, led by Kathy Leonardo decides which events will be featured. Scotch Pairing Apr 25 2013Upper West holds a very special Scotch Pairing at 7 pm. Glenfiddich Scotch, Upper West and the Santa Monica Farmer's Market present "Local Flavors," a unique pairing.

Chef Nick Shipp has brought together an delightful feast for your taste buds.

Start off with a 12 year old Glenfiddich along with roasted beets, fennel, red grapefruit, and cilantro-avocado espuma.

Next enjoy a fifteen year old Glenfiddich featuring heirloom carrots and Russian potato curry with apricot, tarragon, lime

Follow that with a smooth eighteen year old Glenfiddich paired perfectly with braised Rancho San Julian beef tongue accompanied with turnip and apple hash with chimichurri and farm egg yolk.

Laslowres UpperWest outsidet but not least, top off the meal, with a delicious aged Glenfiddich, (21 years), with a buttermilk-lemon panda cotta with rhubarb compote, thai basil granita.

Thurs 4.25 VeniceArtsThe First Looks Work-in-Progress Screening Series is a new, quarterly collaboration between Venice Arts and the International Documentary Association. The program offers the public and members of the film community advance access to new documentaries in progress, and the opportunity to participate in behind-the-scenes conversations with filmmakers and creators.

This quarter, Venice Arts will be screening "Ride with Larry," which follows retired police captain and Parkinson's patient of twenty years Larry Smith as he embarks on a grueling three hundred mile bike ride across his state of South Dakota. .
